Artist Statement

I have an exceptionally hard time expressing myself physically or verbally, which is why it’s essential for me to be able to expose my emotions, memories, and faith in Christ through art. As a self-taught artist, I’m still working through the vast styles and mediums, but currently find myself drawn to Abstract Expressionism through the impasto technique.   I also love working the awe, wonder, and beauty of nature into my pieces.

I am heavily influenced by the work of KwangHo Shin and Joseph Lee (both of whom execute distorted portraits), the parallels of color implemented by Courtney Senior, and the vivid colors and lively brushstrokes used by Sarah Coey.
